Foundational Objectives and Structure

Organizational Mandate

The South Belt Community Partnership is organized and operated exclusively as an exempt, charitable nonprofit organization. Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code defines the accepted purpose of such an organization as, but not limited to, one that is advancing education, lessening the burdens of government, combating community deterioration, and combating juvenile delinquency.

Mission Statement

To improve and maintain the safety, environment and quality of life in the South Belt – Ellington Area through unified efforts in problem resolution and community initiatives.

Vision

To be the exemplary model for present and future co-located communities.

Organizational Structure

The organization is be led by an elected board of directors as well as nominated board members at-large, who represent all member communities throughout the South Belt. The partnership includes stakeholders, who are composed of, but not limited to non-neighborhood organization leaders, local business leaders, municipal, county, and state leadership, key law enforcement agencies, as well as commercial service entities. 

The relationship between the board and the stakeholders is one that is complimentary to both groups. The stakeholders hold influence over areas that are not directly managed by each neighborhood community. The board represents all the areas that are affected by those aforementioned influences.
