April 23, 2024, volunteers convened for the second formational meeting of the Partnership. In this meeting, the body adopted the official operational mandate, which serves to declare the Partnership as an organization with intent to operate as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit as designated by the IRS. Such a designation defines the accepted purpose of such an organization as, but not limited to, one that is advancing education, lessening the burdens of government, combating community deterioration, and combating juvenile delinquency.

During the meeting, four titled positions were deemed necessary for what will now be called the Executive Board. Through a process of nomination and vote, the following volunteers were elected to serve a term of no less than one year on the executive board.

President – Seth Webb (Sagemeadow HOA)
Vice President – Cecelia Ganje (Wood Meadow II CIA)
Secretary – Kay Barbour (Sagemont CC)
Treasurer – Douglas Weeke (Sageglen CA)

Also, future committees will be required and positions in support of those committees will be also be selected.

Board roles and responsibilities were also discussed and generically, the body agreed that the Partnership will follow commonly accepted roles and responsibilities, to be specifically outlined at a future date. The executive board will also work on defining the specifics of the Partnership’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and Certificate of Formation. Additionally, an application will be submitted to the IRS to obtain the aforementioned nonprofit status.

The next meeting of the Partnership will be Thursday, May 30th, 2024. It will take place at 6:30 pm at the Sageglen’s Community Association building located at 11610 Sageyork Dr., Houston, TX 77089. Any community leaders who have not yet been able to participate are most welcomed and encouraged to attend this upcoming meeting of the Partnership.
